At CHS South we believe that reading is a fundamental part of every child's education.
All students are supported to develop the skills to be successful readers. All children read twice a week in Form Time and regularly encounter CHS South reading and vocabulary strategies as part of their day-to-day learning. We provide additional tuition and support for those students who need it and regularly provide opportunities for students to develop a love of reading in school and their day to day lives. Our library provides students with access to a range of texts and support to navigate their learning, and all students have access to our online library, which you can find out more about below!

Borrow Box
Borrow Box is an amazing App available on Apple and Android that hosts your local Library’s collection of texts. To access the texts, you need to be a member of your local library and download the app here.

Free stories for kids of all ages. Audible stories is a free website where young people can listen to hundreds of Audible audio titles across six different languages - English, Spanish, French, German, Italian and Japanese - for free, so they can keep learning & dreaming.
